Closing Concert in the Church of Epineau-les-Voves
Friday 21st of  August 2020 at 18h30

Program

Works chosen from the German Lied and French Art Song répertoire.

Gerda Hartman and John Whitelaw will work individually with each duo on the fusion of the musical and poetic text and the profound interaction between voice and piano - how to listen to the  expressive value of the harmonic writing, how both parts should declame the poetic and musical context of each piece - how both should listen to each other and make music in the true spirit of chamber music.

We welcome advanced students in their final years of conservatory studies, young professionals as well as professionals who work as an established duo.
Each duo will receive intense and detailed tuition during two working sessions per day and should present at least 5 pieces of substance, chosen from the above mentioned repertoire, "by heart". Duos in full preparation of international "Lied - Duo" competitions, may present Lieder and "mélodies" from the list of their competition programs.
